UPDATE: Poland girls softball team heads to state finals

AKRON — The Poland Seminary High School girls softball team pushed through a run in the bottom of the 7th inning to beat the New Concord John Glenn Muskies 5-4 at Akron's Firestone Stadium.

Jenna Modic had hit a line-drive home run to give the Lady Bulldogs an early 1-0 lead.

Poland, 30-1, will play for the Division II championship Saturday at the stadium.
