Poland rallies to advance to state title game

A bases-loaded error by New Concord John Glenn pitcher Rachel Townsend enabled baserunner Adriana Sikora to score the game-winning run in the Bulldogs’ 5-4 victory on Thursday in a Division II state semifinal game at Firestone Stadium.

Poland’s Jenna Modic hit a solo homer as the Bulldogs (30-1) advance to Saturday morning’s state title game against Hebron Lakewood. Modic’s double to lead off the bottom of the seventh inning was the key hit to set up the game-winning run.
