Ohio expands use of Twitter for traffic updates
COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio is expanding its use of Twitter to update motorists about traffic delays.
State transportation officials said today the Twitter feeds will provide morning and afternoon updates on rush-hour traffic problems, including construction delays and major accidents, for Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Toledo.
Ohio began using Twitter in December to post updates on winter-related travel problems.
Officials strongly discourage motorists from attempting to read the messages while driving.
