Home invasion murder suspect rejects plea deal
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — The final alleged conspirator charged in the home-invasion slaying of a Philadelphia business man in his suburban home has rejected a plea deal.
Jury selection is scheduled to begin Thursday in the murder trial for 34-year-old Julius Wise. He’s charged in the January 2009 death of Robert Chae.
Prosecutors say Chae suffocated in the garage of his North Wales home after being bound with duct tape. They say Wise helped plan the invasion and disposed of bloody clothes and other items following the crime.
At a hearing Tuesday, it was revealed Wise rejected a plea deal for third-degree murder.
Two other men have been convicted and three others took plea deals in the case. One was acquitted of all charges.
