Married at 2 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009, in First Baptist Church were Evelyn Lazich, daughter of Evelyn Lazich of Campbell and the late Thomas Lazich, and John L. Payton, son of Raymond and Joan Payton of Hubbard.

The Rev. Mary Jo Berry officiated, and a reception took place at The Gentry. After a stay at Julia’s Bed and Breakfast, the couple are living in Shaker Heights.

The bride wore a strapless diamond-white ball gown that was embellished with champagne beads.

Her twin sister, Robyn Lazich, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were her sisters, Kathi Klimis and Christine Bonamase. They wore iridescent copper gowns. Flower girls were the bride’s niece, Brooke Bonamase, and her great-niece, Gianna Bednarik.

The groom’s father performed the duties of best man.

A summa cum laude graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Mrs. Payton also holds a master’s in chemistry from YSU and is employed as a quality control chemist at Research Organics in Cleveland.

Her husband earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry at YSU and a doctorate in chemistry from Case Western Reserve University.
