Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Youngstown will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Catholic Charities movement in the United States at the 13th annual Voice of Hope dinner scheduled Sept. 11. The event will celebrate the unity and identity of Catholic Charities services in the diocese.

Before dinner, Bishop George Murry will celebrate Mass at 5:30 p.m. in St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St., which is open to the public.

The following honorees will receive Voice of Hope Awards for their work in charity and justice on behalf of disadvantaged people in the diocese:

Terry Supancic.

Tri-parishes of Ashtabula County (St. Joseph, Mother of Sorrows, Our Lady of Mount Carmel).

Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton.

Sister Ann McManamon of Humility of Mary.

The Voice of Hope dinner will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Stambaugh Auditorium. Tickets are $75. The event will featuring hors d’oeuvres, an art display and auction, cash bar and gourmet dinner.

Several sponsorship opportunities for individuals, parishes, and businesses range from $75 to $1,000, and are available until Friday.

The Voice of Hope event also is seeking original, visual artwork for display and/or auction at the event. All submissions must be inspired by or reflective of the work and ministry of Catholic Charities: meeting basic human needs, strengthening families, building communities, and empowering low-income people. Thematically, submissions may address issues of poverty, hunger, homelessness, or solutions to these societal issues.

Artwork must be submitted to Catholic Charities Voice of Hope Art Work, 144 W. Wood Street, Youngstown, Ohio, 44503, no later than Sept. 1.
