Poland reunion will be a blast from the past

The good ‘ole days are back.

Poland neighbors and friends from the 1960s and ‘70s can enjoy a casual day of old-fashioned fun and reunite Aug. 14 at Countryside Farm, 4684 Center Road, in Poland Township starting at 2 p.m.

Event planner Laurie Burns-Fox said it seemed like funerals were the only place you got to see old friends. So, she and fellow 1969 classmates have wanted to plan something for years.

The cost for the picnic is $15 per person and includes food and drink. There will also be music, cornhole, karaoke and a lot of reminiscing.

Fox said she hopes 100 people will attend. To date, about 40 have committed.

There will be canopies, tents and pavilions on-site.

“If it rains, we’ll call it Polandstock,” said Fox.

Reservations and checks for the event should be sent to Fox at 6656 Lowellville Road, Lowellville, OH 44436 before Aug. 7. Tickets at the door will be $25 per person.

For information, contact Fox at 330-536-8850.

“We have people coming from Virginia and South Carolina,” said Fox.“I finally decided this was the year,” Fox said. Fox, her husband Mike, Ronnie Holly and Ida Benzenhoefer Lewis-Sweesy have been hard at work since.
