Neighbors | Submitted .Canfield's Center Stage Dance Academy senior level team went to Sandusky July 6-11 for the Nexstar National Dance Competition.

Excelling at the regional commpetition was only the beginning for one local dance squad.

Center Stage Dance Academy’s competition team traveled to Sandusky to compete in the Nexstar National Dance Championship July 6-11. The team received seven platinum and 15 high gold awards. In addition, the team had 15 first place category winners and five first place overall winners.

The academy’s Pre-Senior Lyrical “Water” placed fourth out of 100 Nexstar Division Dance Groups. They were a given the honor of participating in the Nexstar’s “Big Show” video.

Tina Kaminski, Center Stage owner, said the girls had been working for the competition for months. She is proud of their performance and high scores.

“The girls could not have performed any better at the competition, they looked absolutely amazing on stage,” Kaminski said, “I am so proud of all my students and teachers for all of their hard work and dedication. They truly are the best.”
