Western, Pa. man found dead; housemate missing

HARRISVILLE, Pa. (AP) — An autopsy is set on a man found dead in his western Pennsylvania home as state police search for his housemate who has been missing for several days.

State police in Butler say 56-year-old Clifford Stevenson was found dead about 7:30 p.m. Thursday in his Mercer Township home. That’s about 45 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Stevenson’s housemate, 49-year-old Thomas Smith, was last seen on Monday.

Police say they don’t suspect Smith of wrongdoing, but are trying to find him because they’re concerned for his safety.

The autopsy on Stevenson’s body was scheduled for today. Police aren’t saying how they believe he died.
