Art Youngstown Inc. is putting together an advisory board to aid in the organization’s progression.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Rosetta Stone Caf , 10 W. Federal St.

Art Youngstown Inc. is a nonprofit organization that promotes a vision that the collaboration of citizens, agencies, organizations and government can mobilize communities to address important issues and solve problems in new ways, according to its press release.

The group is asking for the community’s expertise, talent and interest for the city and local art to help make decisions regarding future projects.

Art Youngstown recently finished work on two projects. The organization partnered with Youngstown State University on a banner project titled “The Three Letters Project” for YSU’s Summer Festival of the Arts. The second project organized 24 area artists to paint graffiti-style art for a soon-to-be downtown nightclub.

Two immediate projects include a “Sketch Crawl” on Saturday, which will raise funds in part for The Purple Cat, a nonprofit, private agency that offers day programs and work opportunities for people with disabilities, and on Aug. 21, group members will be painting a mural on the side of a building for the Idora Park Neighborhood Association.

Art Youngstown also promotes a new artist each month in a display window at 20 Federal Place, 20 W. Federal St., in downtown Youngstown. The group’s motto is “Art for All.”
