Niles Heritage Day Sunday

The Niles Historical Society will hold its annual Heritage Day from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Ward-Thomas Museum, 503 Brown St.

Included in the event are tours of the 14-room Victorian house, a display of bridal gowns and gowns from the president wives collection, quilting, knitting and crocheting demonstrations, a display and sale of buttons, and a display of old tools and wood.

Also, a replica of an 1860 kitchen is set up in the barn and old cars will be parked along the driveway leading to the museum. Over 60 perennial and annual flowers are planted in the restored flower gardens. Rich Muccio, a caricature artist, will be in the Westenfield room doing creative designs. Members of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry Co. D will portray the early American family, explaining the duties of the family members and the clothes they would wear.

Baked goods and lemon shakes will be available.
