YOUNGSTOWN

Police have accused a 46-year-old city woman with running down and killing her 64-year-old boyfriend with a Cadillac after an argument between them.

Kimberly Mack, of 826 Woodford Avenue, was arrested just before 4 a.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Evergreen Avenue and charged with DUI and aggravated vehicular homicide. She is slated to be arraigned in Youngstown Municipal Court today.

Mack was arrested after police found her intoxicated and standing over the body of 64-year-old James Jackson of West Evergreen Avenue screaming, “My baby! my baby! Save him.” Police say Jackson died after being run down by a motor vehicle.

Mack told officers she and Jackson had been at a funeral home earlier in the day and had been drinking throughout the course of the day. She said she came to the house and found Jackson lying in the driveway after Jackson asked her to come to the house.

Mack was shown to have a blood alcohol level of 0.205 after being tested by police.

Officers at the scene of the incident noted that Mack had the keys to Jackson’s Cadillac in her possession and admitted to driving the car. The officers also noted a list of signs that showed Jackson had been run down with the Cadillac.

According to reports, officers identified Jackson’s injuries as “road rash,” or injuries sustained from being dragged across pavement. Police noted fresh blood on the front bumper area of the car as well as fingerprints on the passenger side door and a fresh palm print on the passenger side rear- door window. There were also fresh brush marks and fingerprints that dragged along the trunk lid.

Officers also noted that the front axle of the car had a spot where dirt and grime had been brushed off matching a spot of dirt and grease on Jackson’s clothing.

Police reports show that Mack and Jackson had a dispute in late June involving police over the same Cadillac. Jackson reportedly told officers Mack asked for a ride to see her mother but when told no, took the keys to the car and fled.
