A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

July 19

Criminal damaging: A 2002 Chevrolet vehicle sustained damage in the 6200 block of Quarry Road.

July 22

Identity theft: A $90 fraudulent charge was made to a Hunters Hill Drive woman’s debit card.

July 23

Identity theft: A Shawbutte Street woman found out her information had been used to make $432 worth of unauthorized charges to her debit-card account.

July 26

Theft: A $300 boys bicycle was stolen in the 2900 block of Autumnwood Trail.

BOARDMAN

July 23

Domestic violence: Youngstown police handed 25-year-old Jose L. Monserrat Jr., 826 E. Florida Ave., Youngstown, to township authorities. Monserrat was wanted on a misdemeanor charge.

Theft: A woman reported $1,000 missing from her Tod Avenue apartment.

Theft: A $185 fabric bar-skirt was stolen from Classic Tent & Party Rentals, 690 Bev Road.

Theft: Stephanie L. Shaffer, 30, of 321 Mathews Road, Boardman, was charged with stealing two pairs of women’s jeans from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Arrest: Authorities charged 30-year-old Imada Sudarsana, 7008 Marinthiana Ave., Boardman, with tampering with records, a third-degree felony, after saying she had presented a fraudulent international driver’s license to buy license plates at the Boardman License Bureau, 229 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Domestic violence: Daniel S. Bussard, 32, of 2803 Cain St., Youngstown, was charged after his mother alleged Bussard had tried to punch her during an argument at a U.S. Route 224 store.

July 24

Domestic violence: Adrian L. Jennings, 29, of 834 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown, was charged with the crime after a family member alleged Jennings struck her twice in the face during an argument about the accuser’s refusal to give him money.

Assault: Officers charged 35-year-old Danny R. Peters, 6110 Market St., Boardman, after a township woman alleged Peters had punched her in the face during an argument.

Assault/criminal damaging: A Canfield man told police his girlfriend, of Shields Road, bit and scratched him during an argument, then smashed his car’s windshield.

Theft: A 15-year-old city boy was charged with stealing clothing from Walmart and released to the custody of his mother.

Aggravated menacing: A Sierra Madre Trail man said his life was threatened.

Assault: A Market Street man suffered a bite mark to his right shoulder and a cut to his left hand after reporting someone had tossed a weed trimmer and bit him.

Theft: A wallet, two credit cards and two checkbooks were removed from a car in the 100 block of Mill Creek Drive.

July 25

Vandalism: Someone used a key to cause $1,500 in damage to a vehicle’s paint in the 80 block of Carter Circle.

Criminal damaging: Dents were placed in a car’s rear quarter-panel and on its driver’s side in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Vandalism: A piece of cinder block was used to break and cause $700 in damage to a front window at Sleepy Hollow Sleep Shop, 4931 Market St.

Burglary: To a residence in the 4400 block of Hopkins Road through a rear door. Stolen was about $7,000 worth of jewelry.

Criminal damaging: Scratch marks were found on a car’s rear fender in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.

Burglary: Took place in the 20 block of Melrose Avenue, where a 46-inch plasma TV was taken.

Assault: A South Schenley Avenue woman told police her 2-year-old son had been slapped in the hand. The boy had no visible injuries, however.

July 26

Burglary: Antwan D. Chilton, 23, of 967 Katherine Ave., Youngstown, was charged with entering an Old Oxford Lane apartment and removing a 52-inch TV.

Arrest: Officers responded to an assault in the 900 block of East Western Reserve Road and took into custody 30-year-old David J. Lengyel Jr., 141 Woodland Drive, New Middletown. Lengyel was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court.

Felonious assault: Michael L. Brancho, 43, of 4055 South Ave., Boardman, was charged after his girlfriend alleged that during an argument, Brancho slammed a freezer door, striking her head. He also had a knife and threatened to slice her throat, a report said.

Theft: Six pain pills were given to a patient at a South Avenue care center in an improper manner.

Theft: A cell phone and money were taken from vehicles in the 7600 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Theft of services: Someone dumped electronics equipment and shelving parts into and near a trash bin without permission from the Boardman-Canfield Road business.

Theft: A Tippecanoe Road woman reported the theft of 50 Xanex pills.

Criminal mischief: Someone cut down two trees at an apartment complex in the 700 block of Boardman-Canfield Road without permission.

Menacing: A Squirrel Hill Court woman reported receiving the latest in a series of harassing letters.

Arrest: Danny R. Peters, 35, of 6110 Market St., Boardman, was picked up on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: A man left Pet Supplies Plus, 411 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying for a $70 chemical filter.

Arrest: Authorities took custody of 24-year-old Clyde E. Hudson Jr. at his apartment, 335 Cook Ave., Boardman. Hudson was wanted on charges of failure to comply with police, disorderly conduct and failure to desist.

Theft: A woman in her 40s stole $300 worth of clothing from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.

Identity fraud: A Jaguar Drive man discovered someone in Wyoming has been using his Social Security number.

July 27

Recovered property: Police found a 1992 Oldsmobile vehicle near Southern Boulevard that a Struthers woman had reported stolen.

Theft by deception: A worker for Eagle Rentals Inc., 6132 Market St., told officers that a township man stopped making the required payments after having made the down payment to a 52-inch TV and a DVD player.
