Rubino show at Playhouse

Liz Rubino Studios Ohio, a voice and drama school for youths, will produce its third annual “Broadway and Beyond” concert Saturday at the Youngstown Playhouse.

Students will present songs from musicals ranging from “Next to Normal” and “Wicked” to “Chicago” and “Les Miserables,” as well as popular bands and singers. Rubino, an actor-cabaret performer-teaching artist and drama therapist in New York and Youngstown, also will perform, along with James McClellan and Jay Sylvester.

Children age 8 to 18 also are being accepted for private and/or studio training for next season. Deadline to register is Sept. 1. Five slots remain.
