WILLIAMSPORT, PA.

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers managed to get seven hits, but couldn’t score any runs against Williamsport on Friday night in a 7-0 loss to the Crosscutters in a New York-Penn League game.

Williamsport hit three home runs and took the Scrappers out of the game early.

Mario Hollands picked up his third victory of the season, pitching six shutout innings.

The Scrappers (14-22) committed three errors in the game, which led to a pair of Crosscutter (22-14) runs.

Williamsport started the scoring early. Two runs in the first inning, and two more in the second gave the Crosscutters a 4-0 lead.

Scrappers starter Jordan Cooper gave up five hits in his four innings. He allowed four runs, while striking out one and walking three batters.

Cooper (1-2) was replaced by Gregorio Rosario in the fifth inning. He gave up one run on one hit. But he struck out three batters and walked only one.

The Crosscutters had home runs in the second, sixth and eighth innings. They belonged to Cameron Rupp, Jeff Lanning and Jeff Cusick, in that order.

Each Scrappers pitcher — Cooper, Rosario and Julio Ramirez — gave up a home run.
