Police seek suspect in two robberies

Police have issued a warrant for a 29-year-old man accused of two Thursday morning armed robberies.

Robert M. Barnes is sought in the robberies of Circle K, 7103 Lockwood Blvd., and Brown’s Drug Store, 5106 Southern Blvd., where police say he also held a customer at knife point. Barnes is wanted on two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of auto theft and two counts of kidnapping.

At Circle K, the suspect is accused of stealing $41 in dollar bills, and the cashier’s car keys and wallet. He drove away in the cashier’s Buick Park Avenue about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Then, about 10:30 a.m. that same day, Barnes is accused of taking a Brown’s Drug Store customer hostage at knife point and taking cash, OxyContin and Vicodin before speeding away in the customer’s gray Dodge Caravan.

Barnes is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair.
