July 2

Counterfeit: A fake $50 bill was used to buy two pairs of children’s sandals at Payless Shoesource in the Southern Park Mall.

Harassment: A Tudor Lane woman said her estranged husband has been making unwanted calls.

Attempted fraud: A Walmart official told police of receiving a counterfeit $789 check in the latest of a series of such checks.

Endangerment: Officers charged 25-year-old Malena A. Pack, 4111 Glenwood Ave., with a misdemeanor count of endangering children after saying Pack claimed someone had taken her children. An investigation revealed the youngsters had been left alone in the apartment but were not harmed, a report showed.

Domestic violence: Authorities charged 21-year-old James N. Katz, 7421 West Blvd., Boardman, with two counts of domestic violence after his father and another family member alleged Katz had threatened to kill them and destroy the residence.

Theft: A man ordered more than $62 worth of food from the Blue Wolf Tavern, 1295 Boardman-Canfield Road, but failed to pay the bill.

Theft: Gina L. Dambrosi, 35, of 2075 Weir Road NE, Warren, and 36-year-old Amy L. Patterson, 229 Porter St. NE, Warren, were charged with stealing $568 worth of clothing from Macy’s.

Misuse of a credit card: A Brookwood Road man discovered his debit card had been used to make seven unauthorized purchases.

Auto theft: A 1994 Buick Century was stolen in the 5900 block of Youngstown-Poland Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s driver’s-side window was smashed in the 6700 block of Applewood Boulevard.

July 3

Robbery: After her food-stamp card was rejected at Rulli Bros., 8025 South Ave., a woman in her 50s reportedly pushed an employee who confronted her after the woman left without paying for $72 of groceries.

Theft by deception: A worker for Gloria Jeans Coffee in the Southern Park Mall reported a man stole $88 as part of a short-change scheme.

Theft: A back rest was taken from a motorcycle in the 1400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Arrest: A traffic stop on South Avenue led to the arrest of 26-year-old Larwell J. Hall, 2972 Oregon Ave., Youngstown, who was wanted on a warrant from Campbell.

Theft: Two New Castle, Pa., boys, 15 and 17, were charged with stealing two bottles of cologne from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A man and a woman stole six tank tops from Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd.

July 4

Theft: Two vehicles in the 7900 block of Aquadale Drive were entered before someone took an MP3 player, a global positioning system unit and a computer and related accessories, for an $800 loss.

Theft: A $300 GPS device was removed from a car on South Shore Drive.

Theft: Someone stole a $500 in-dash stereo from a vehicle at the Southern Park Mall.

Arrest: Police responded to a fight on Ferncliffe Drive and arrested 26-year-old Lawrence M. Conzett Jr., 191 Sexton St., Struthers, on a warrant from Mahoning County.

Arrest: Robert E. Hallas, 26, of 7577 Sierra Madre Trail, Boardman, was taken into custody after having been pulled over on U.S. Route 224. Hallas was wanted by Austintown police on a charge of complicity to theft.

July 5

Theft: A man reported his cell phone stolen while at a McClurg Road business.

Theft: A refrigerator and an electric stove were removed from an apartment in the 200 block of Mathews Road.

Burglary/auto theft: Someone entered a residence in the 4800 block of Erie Street, took a key and stole a 1999 Honda Accord.

Theft/criminal mischief: A ceramic yard decoration was stolen from a home in the 7100 block of Glendale Avenue. The homeowner also discovered someone had deliberately let the air out of a children’s blow-up swimming pool.

Domestic violence: A 15-year-old township girl was charged with the crime after her mother alleged her daughter had pulled her hair and kicked the accuser during an argument about the girl’s having sent someone a text message.

Theft: Kimberly Narkum, 43, of 1529 Medford Ave., Poland, was charged with deliberately failing to scan a package of diapers and a children’s toy at Walmart.

Theft: A $150 bicycle was stolen in the 100 block of Clifton Drive.

Theft: A vehicle’s front license plate was removed in the 2000 block of Wolosyn Circle.

Identity fraud: A Youngstown woman alleged her sister intentionally used the accuser’s information when arrested on a warrant in Boardman.

Domestic violence: A Struthers boy, 16, was charged after having been accused of pushing and punching a 5-year-old girl at an Oregon Trail residence.

July 9

Theft: A Youngstown woman reported her mother’s Social Security check stolen from a residence in the 6700 block of West Boulevard.

Misuse of a credit card: Three unauthorized charges totaling $129 were made from a Harrington Avenue woman’s account.

Theft: Hand and electrical tools were taken from a garage in the 800 block of Indianola Road.

Bad check: Mary K. Playforth, 18, of 726 Crestview Drive, Boardman, faced a felony count of passing a bad check after being accused of trying to pass a counterfeit $2,150 check at Checksmart, 112 Boardman-Poland Road.

Recovered property: A 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix was found at the Southern Park Mall after a Lake Milton woman had reported it stolen.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s front tires were damaged in the 400 block of Argyle Avenue.

Fraud: A Homestead Drive man found four unauthorized charges to his account totaling $351.51.

Burglary: To a residence in the 4200 block of Stratford Road through the front door. Stolen was $300.

Theft: A $200 car stereo was removed from a vehicle at the Southern Park Mall.

Counterfeit: A fake $20 bill was passed at Salty Grogs, 1203 Boardman-Poland Road.

July 10

Theft: Brittany L. West, 20, of 528 E. Boston Ave., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of jewelry, cosmetics and a pair of glasses from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Burglary: Someone pushed open a side window and entered an apartment in the 100 block of Terrace Drive. A 42-inch TV, a laptop computer, a Nintendo system and $200 were stolen.

Criminal damaging: A car’s tire was punctured in the 6100 block of Market Street.

Criminal damaging: Two of a vehicle’s tires were slashed in the 3900 block of South Schenley Avenue.

Theft: Six bags of candy were stolen from Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Burglary: Took place at an apartment in the 90 block of Lemans Drive after someone had cut a window screen. Stolen were five DVDs.

Theft: Police booked 36-year-old Michelle L. O’Donahue, 169 Princeton Ave., Youngstown, on charges of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after $65 worth of merchandise was stolen from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road. She also had a suspected crack pipe, a report said.

Criminal mischief: Paint balls were shot at a home in the 4400 block of Lockwood Boulevard.

Domestic violence: Charles R. Treharne Jr., 41, of 1100 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, was charged with the crime after his wife alleged that after stopping their vehicle and arguing, Treharne pulled her hair and pushed her to the ground, causing a cut to her elbow.

Arrest: A 16-year-old city boy faced charges of being an unruly juvenile, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, vandalism and disorderly conduct after police responded to a disturbance at a South Schenley Avenue apartment. The teen refused to comply with police and tried to damage a cruiser, a report showed.

July 11

Breaking and entering: Someone entered Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8570 Market St., and took several flat-screen TVs and other property.

Theft: A $200 mountain bike was stolen at a Southern Boulevard business.

Theft: Thomas W. Vaughn, 60, of 7015 Market St., Boardman, was charged with stealing two 12-packs of beer from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.

Theft: Laresa M. Tolbert, 21, of 3405 Idlewood Ave., Youngstown, faced a felony charge, accused in the theft of $1,216 worth of clothing from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Auto theft: A 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera was stolen in the 5400 block of Southern Boulevard.

Burglary: A side door was ajar at a residence in the 5300 block of Youngstown-Poland Road, where a 32-inch TV and a DVD player were removed.

Assault: A worker for a Market Street motel told officers a 16-year-old guest punched the accuser’s left cheek after voicing a complaint.

Burglary: A 17-year-old Youngstown boy was charged with breaking into a residence in the 5600 block of Southern Boulevard.

Burglary: To a home in the 4200 block of Stratford Road, from which two purses and money were taken. Someone had tossed a patio stone through a rear door.

Attempted burglary: A door to a residence in the 7400 block of Huntington Drive was damaged, apparently after someone had tried to enter.

July 12

Theft: Mitchell Czerniak, 18, of 5396 Palmyra St., Newton Falls, was charged with stealing from Macy’s $71 worth of cologne.

Theft: After $121 worth of cosmetics was taken from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road; 45-year-old Linda M. Snyder, 401 Rockdale Ave., Boardman, was charged.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A South Avenue man said a friend borrowed but failed to return the accuser’s 2002 Chevrolet Malibu.

Misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown man reported his debit card had been used without permission at three township locations.

Assault: An Arden Boulevard woman suffered an injured shoulder after reporting she had been jumped on and punched during an argument about personal property.

Misuse of a credit card: A North Cadillac Drive woman told authorities she was informed that someone had used her credit card to buy a $369 cell phone.

Breaking and entering: Someone used a piece of cinder block to break a window and enter Maly’s Supplies & Equipment Inc., 7393 California Ave., though nothing seemed to be missing.

Arrest: Bryan K. Brown, 39, of 4135 Howard St., Youngstown, was taken into custody near Market Street and Midlothian Boulevard on probation-violation and falsification charges.

July 13

Aggravated menacing: A South Avenue man reported finding a letter on his front patio stating he would be killed.

Identity theft: A Shelby Road man discovered $1,535 had been fraudulently removed from his account.

Menacing: A man in the 100 block of Boardman-Canfield Road said someone threatened to beat him up.

Misuse of a credit card: A Windsor Road man noticed five transactions totaling $400 had been made to his debit card without consent.

Theft: Two people took a $160 bicycle from a yard in the 40 block of Arlene Avenue.
