Burglary charge

Boardman

Police officers arrested a 36-year-old Youngstown man on a burglary charge.

A patrolman in an unmarked police car noticed a man later identified as Jesse Lamont Cooper of Ravenwood Avenue dressed in all black with a drawstring backpack walking along Midlothian Boulevard around 2 a.m. Friday. The officer attempted to stop Cooper near 4010 Hillman Way. He turned around, dropped a metal flashlight and climbed a fence in the house’s backyard, according to police reports.

More officers arrived, as did a police dog from Beaver township, and searched the attached, enclosed porch of 4115 Hudson Drive. The porch was unlocked, and officers found Cooper under a table.

Cooper faces charges of obstructing official business, burglary involving trespassing in an occupied structure, possessing criminal tools and resisting arrest.
