The Cleveland Browns have signed rookie quarterback Colt McCoy to a multiyear contract, but have not yet reached an agreement with first-round pick Joe Haden.

McCoy, the No. 85 overall pick out of Texas, received $4.96 million with a signing bonus of $751,000, a league source said. The maximum value represents about a 50 percent increase over last year’s No. 85 pick, but McCoy received the quarterback premium.

McCoy was selected in the third round in April’s draft. The former Texas star reported with the team’s other signed first-year players on Friday. The Browns’ veterans are not required to arrive until next week. Cleveland opens training camp on July 31.

McCoy spent most of full-squad minicamp working as the third- or fourth-team quarterback. Browns coach Eric Mangini hasn’t ruled out McCoy playing this season, but the plan is to let him watch and learn behind Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace.

McCoy, who was drafted with the pick acquired from Oakland in the Kamerion Wimbley trade, earned 45 victories in 53 starts at Texas to become the winningest quarterback in NCAA history. Throwing 112 touchdowns against 45 interceptions, he became the only quarterback in college history to win at least 10 or more games in each of his four seasons.

The Browns say they have also signed offensive lineman Shawn Lauvao, who was taken seven picks — No. 92 overall — behind McCoy.

Lauvao’s four-year deal is worth up to $3.22 million with a $697,000 signing bonus. He was drafted out of Arizona State with the 92nd overall pick, which was acquired from the Jets as part of the Braylon Edwards trade.

Lauvao appeared in 42 games at Arizona State, finishing his career with 33 consecutive starts. He saw action at both guard and tackle, with 17 starts at left guard, 12 at left tackle and four at right tackle. Lauvao will compete for a starting guard job this season.

The team is continuing talks with the agents for Haden, the No. 7 overall pick. Second-round picks, safety T.J. Ward and running back Montario Hardesty, are also unsigned.

The Browns already signed their other three draft picks, safety Larry Asante, receiver Carlton Mitchell, and defensive lineman Clifton Geathers.
