CLUB CALENDAR | Local organizations plan meetings


ASSOCIATIONS

Gold Wing Road Riders Association will have its monthly meeting Saturday at Yankee Kitchen, 6635 Market St., Boardman. The group meets for supper at 5 p.m., and the meeting follows at 6 p.m. Members are asked to wear their Gold Wing vests. The rides and events scheduled for the coming months will be announced at the meeting. Final details for the upcoming picnic in August, which will be at Beaver Creek Park, will be announced. Weekly Friday Night Fires take place if the weather permits. Hot dogs and drinks are provided, and everyone takes a covered dish. Sign-up sheets will be passed around for the monthly scheduled rides. Only July 31, members will attend the Car/Motorcycle/Crash Show and hand out safety fliers to promote motorist awareness. The event will be sponsored by the Bethel Lutheran Church Youth Group, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman.

AUXILIARIES

Sulmona Valley Ladies Auxiliary met recently and discussed plans for the upcoming picnic, set for Tuesday at the home of Catherine Ricottilli. There will be no meeting in August. Meetings will resume Sept. 28. For more information call Sandy Redeske, secretary, at 330-755-5192.

CLUBS

American Hungarian Club, Donald Avenue, Youngstown, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the clubhouse. Discussion will include the club picnic on Aug. 1. Cost is $5 for members and $7 for guests. Those attending the picnic are asked to take a casserole. Reservations are required; call 330-799-7008.

Time Bank will have a 4th Tuesday Think Tank from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 201 Wick Ave. Topics on the agenda: “What is your community vision?,” and “Community building as a leadership social construct.” Entrance and parking are in the back; take the elevator to the second floor.

GRANGES

Dublin Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Michelle Combis will be in charge. The needlework and craft contest will be judged. A cornhole tournament will be led by Lecturer Gary Reel. Articles for the Canfield Fair exhibits should be brought to this meeting. Refreshments will be served.

GUILDS

Youngstown Chapter of Embroiderer’s Guild of America will meet Tuesday at the I.O.O.F. Hall, Canfield. The morning meeting will begin at 10 a.m., and the evening meeting, at 7:30 p.m. Sally Svoboda will preside. The featured project will be Timariu (Temari Ball) by Julia Kerner. SUPPORT GROUPS

African American Prostate Cancer Support Group will present “Let’s Talk About It,” a prostate health program from the American Cancer Society for black men. The program will take place from 6-8 p.m. at Beulah Temple, 523 Griffith St., Youngstown, on Monday, on Aug. 23, and on Aug. 27. Participants will learn the basic facts about prostate health, risk factors, symptoms, testing and treatment options.
