Three arrested after shooting on South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — Three people were arrested for shooting at six individuals on the porch of a West LaClede Avenue home early today.

Dana D. Penson, 33, of Boardman, and Loraine D. McKinnon, 40, and Richard Hickson, 34, both of Youngstown, are charged with felonious assault and were taken to Mahoning County jail around 2 a.m.

According to police reports, McKinnon got into an argument with the homeowner, which resulted in the homeowner throwing McKinnon out and calling police to get a restraining order.

After Youngstown police officers left the house, two men approached the house yelling threats and then a white Cadillac with three occupants sped by. All five opened fire at the house, and then fled.

Officers stopped Penson, McKinnon and Hickson in a car on Market Street and arrested them after finding a handgun near the car, police said.
