“Speed the Plow,SDRq at The Oakland Center for the Arts, 220 W. Boardman St., Youngstown, written by David Mamet and directed by Milan Paurich. Auditions will be in the Oakland’s Star Gallery from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 2. Three roles are available, including two men age 35 and up and one woman in her 20s. Those interested in auditioning should have some familiarity with the works of Mamet and should bring along a favorite passage from one of Mamet’s works or be prepared to read from the script. “Oklahoma,SDRq at Trumbull New Theatre, 5883 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Auditions will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 26 and from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 29. Be prepared to sing a song from “Oklahoma.” Please provide sheet music if singing something else. Cast requirements: three females, age 18-40; two males, age 18-35, and large chorus of adults and some children age 9 and up. Requires singing, acting and dancing. Seraphim Community Chorus has rehearsals at 7 p.m. Mondays. Auditions will be Aug. 18 at Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., Boardman; and Aug. 19 at Mary, Mother of Hope Catholic Church, 124 Beaver St., New Castle, Pa.
