Campbells haul in medals at Games

The father-and-son team of John and Patrick Campbell recently won four team medals and three individual medals in the shooting events at this year’s Police and Fire Games.

The Campbells won gold in the Pistol Revolver Team Police Practical Combat, 60-69-year-old competition and silver in the Pistol Team PPC/60-69.

Individually, Patrick won gold in Pistol PPC and bronze in the Bullseye and Tactical Rifle, all in the 30-39 group. John won silver in the Bullseye/Revolver and Small Bore with Bi-Pod and bronze in the Pistol PPC, all in the 60-69 group.

John, 62, is a retired U.S. Postal Carrier from the main Youngstown office and is also a retired Girard fireman.

Patrick works full-time at the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center as a juvenile probation officer. He is also on the Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes task force and a reserve patrolman for the Poland Village Police Dept.

The Campbells plan to compete in next year’s games, which will be held in Fairborn, Ohio. They will also compete in the 2010 Can-Am Police-Fire Games in Dublin, Ohio.
