ACTION, the faith-based community organizing group, will conduct its second- annual “Come and See” program, a leadership training workshop designed to outline the principles of community organizing.

The session for the Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing Our Neighborhoods is planned from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 7 Garland Ave., on the city’s East Side.

The program will be facilitated by two experienced organizers affiliated with the Chicago-based Gamaliel Foundation, an organization dedicated to effective community organizing. Program facilitators will draw on their experiences in Atlanta, Chicago and Cleveland.

Participants will be exposed to strategies involved in creating “one-on-one” dialogues, establishing core teams and developing working relationships within the community.

Minister Rose Carter is lead organizer for the local chapter of ACTION. For more information, call 330-782-7433.
