REUNIONS | Former classmates, families plan to meet

Chaney High School January and June Classes of 1942 Alumni will meet at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 2 at Denny’s in Austintown for brunch. There is no annual reunion planned, so all classmates and spouses are asked to attend. There will be no meeting in September.

The 64th annual E.G. and Anna Mae Hood family reunion will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Phillips Barn on Webb Road in Mineral Ridge. All family members are welcome and should take table service, drinks and a casserole or dessert to share. Chicken and coffee will be provided.

Anyone who has not received an invitation to the East High School Class of 1960 50th reunion planned for Aug. 13 and 14 is asked to call A.J. Napoli at 330-758-8243 or Joe LoCicero at 330-533-4778. Resevations are due July 31.

The Ewing-Gault families will have their 121st reunion Aug. 7 at Liberty Park in North Jackson. Those attending are asked to take a table service and covered dish for the 12:30 p.m. luncheon.

Hubbard High School Class of 1951 will meet at noon Wednesday at the Globe Restaurant in Truck World Mall. All are welcome.

Poland Seminary High School class of 1980 reunion committee is still seeking classmates for its 30th class reunion. The event will take place from 7-11 p.m. Aug. 28 at Rusty’s on South Avenue, Boardman, and will feature appetizers and a cash bar. The fee of $20 per person must be paid in advance. Rayen High School Class of 1965 is seeking classmates for its 45th class reunion. Anyone who has not received an invitation or knows of someone who hasn’t is asked to call 330-746-0976. The reunion will be Nov. 27 at Stambaugh Auditorium.

Salem Bliss employees’ reunion will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rainbow Lakes on Franklin Square-Leetonia Road. Coffee and soft drinks will be provided. A covered dish is optional. Those attending are urged to take memorabilia.

South High School January and June Classes of 1950 are preparing for their 60-year reunion on Oct. 2 at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave., Boardman. A social hour will take place from 6-6:45 p.m., followed by a class picture. South High School Class of 1960 will celebrate its 50th class reunion on July 30 and 31. Festivities will begin Friday with a casual mixer from 7-9 p.m. at Stonebridge Grille and Tavern in Boardman. Finger food and a cash bar will be provided. On Saturday during the day, class members may go to the school for personal pictures. That evening the class will gather at the Youngstown Saxon Club on Meridian Road for a sit-down dinner. Doors open at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 8. A photographer will be provided, and CDs of Idora Park and South High Warriors sweatshirts and T-shirts will be available for purchase. The cost is $50 per person for the dinner event.
