Letters for Pets event is Saturday

HOWLAND

WARREN — The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County will be having a “Letters for Pets” event at The Menagerie Thrift and Gift Shoppe, 6037 East Market St. , from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Members of the community are invited to support the nation’s shelter animals by participating in a letter writing campaign asking President Obama to declare April 30 as National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. Menagerie customers can sign a letter provided by the Animal Welfare League and choose a photo of a shelter animal to be sent to the White House. Letters will be mailed by the Animal Welfare League at a later date.

In addition to signing a “Letter for Pets,” customers can browse through a variety of unique new and used items for sale. Revenue generated from sales at The Menagerie help provide funds for the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County. For more information about the Animal Welfare League visit www.animalwelfareohio.org.
