Montgomery Gentry coming to Covelli

Country music band Montgomery Gentry will come to Covelli Centre on Sept. 18 for an 8 p.m. concert. Tickets will go on sale Friday at the Covelli Centre box office and all Ticketmaster locations. Prices are $26.50, $36.50 and $46.50 (Gold Circle) with applicable fees.

Serbian Day picnic includes food, music

YOUNGSTOWN

The 78th annual Serbian Day Picnic will begin at noon Sunday at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave. The event celebrates Serbian culture through traditional music and food, including spit-roasted lamb and pork, chicken paprikish, cevapcici (grilled sausage), Serbian rice and homemade doughnuts. Children’s events will be from 2 to 5 p.m., including games and a Bounce-A-Round. Music will be provided by Djuro Klipa of Pittsburgh from 4 to 9 p.m. in the pavilion. Admission is $3. Family Fun Night at Boardman Park

BOARDMAN

Boardman Township Park will present a free Family Fun Night at 6 p.m. Saturday at Maag Outdoor Arts Theater. Children can play in a Bounce-A-Round, and Jocko the clown will make balloons. There will also be a hayride.

At 7 p.m., the Mad Caps puppets will perform “Annie Oakley’s Wild West Show.” The film “UP” will be screened at dark.

Food concessions will be available. Attendees can bring a blanket or lawn chairs.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, the sculpted star of the MTV reality show “Jersey Shore,” has a book coming out in November about tanning salons, protein and other secrets to the good life. Gotham Books describes the book with tongue firmly in cheek. It says “Here’s the Situation” is the perfect guide to “living everyday like an episode of ’Jersey Shore.’”

The show chronicles the lives of a group of tanned, party-crazy twentysomethings living together in a beach house.
