CORTLAND

A man was taken to the hospital Sunday after losing control of the motorcycle he was riding.

About 4:15 p.m. Sunday, the man, who hadn’t been identified Sunday night by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, crashed his motorcycle on state Route 11 near the state Route 305 exit in Cortland.

The driver suffered injuries and was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, according to OSHP.

A city home sustained nearly $40,000 in structural and content damage after a fire broke out.

The fire at 1141 Central Parkway Avenue began around 8 p.m. Saturday.

Warren fire officials said they don’t know the cause of the blaze that cost the family more than $30,000 in property damage and $8,600 in content damage. The state fire marshal is investigating.

The homeowner’s wife and their daughter were in the house at the time but escaped the blaze unharmed, the fire department said.

I-80 restrictions

The Ohio Department of Transportation reminds motorists there will be nightly traffic restrictions starting at 7 p.m. for resurfacing on Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound from Bell Wick Road to the Pennsylvania line until further notice. That section also will have lane restrictions for bridge repairs.

This is part of a $7 million project that includes minor bridge work at locations along I-80.

The project should be completed by August.
