Home invasion leaves man in critical condition, woman injured

A home invasion and shooting shortly after 3 p.m. Monday left Richard White, 22, in critical condition in St. Elizabeth Health Center, where another victim, Lakiesha Hill, 31, was treated for cuts and bruises on the left side of her head.

Police said three armed intruders entered a home in the 500 block of Mabel Street. A suspect with a sawed-off shotgun struck Hill in the face and ripped a gold earring from her ear. White fought with the intruders and suffered a gunshot to the left arm and side.

There was an open line to 911 and the commotion could be heard.
