Connie Randolph of Salineville, author of the children’s book “Casper Joe,” will sign copies of her book from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 25 at the Links at Firestone Farms, 105 Saint Andrews St.

Based on the life of a puppy, the book covers Casper Joe’s adoption by a loving family who provide him with toys and even a swimming pool. However, Casper Joe gets sick and must learn to be brave in the veterinarian’s office.

Christianity combats violence in new book

In his new book, “Method 8 — The Land of Escobar and the Journey of the Dreamer,” Brian Keith West takes his writing skills and uses them to combat the high increase in youth violence with the weapon of Christianity.

The book is about a boy who is born in a land that cannot dream and only has Christianity as a religion. He uses his gift to dream to prepare his people to face off against an elite and oppressive government.

The author is president of The Method 8 Corporation, which is hosting a book signing from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Family Christian Book Stores in Fashion Square Plaza, 7415 Market St.

‘Spooksylvania’ revisits childhood fantasies

“Spooksylvania!,” a book written specifically for young readers by Lisa George, a lifelong resident of Sharon and an office administrator in the Mercer County District Attorney’s Office, is based on childhood fantasies of magic and good and evil.
