Final film on 'Real Dirt on Food' series Thursday

Grow Youngstown will show “The Future of Food” at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cortland Wine Cellar, 5292 Warren Meadville Road.

The movie concludes Grow Youngstown’s film series, The Real Dirt on Food. “The Future of Food” is a documentary by Deborah Koons Garcia that chronicles Monsanto’s $8 billion takeover of the seed industry and raises a number of questions related to the safety of genetically engineered food and its long-term effect on agriculture and human beings.

Grow Youngstown is a Mahoning Valley-based non-profit organization dedicated to creating a healthy, socially just, economically viable and inter-dependent food system in the community.
