Elvis coming to Yellow Creek Theatre

Yellow Creek Theatre in Poland will partner with the Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club Friday to raise donations for 2-year-old Brett Wilcox of Austintown, who is battling leukemia.

The outdoor movie venue will be the backdrop for a live performance by world-class Elvis tribute artist, Jim Penney, who will entertain moviegoers with his repertoire of popular songs by Elvis Presley.

Penney strives to keep his performances as true to the memory of Elvis as he can, and his show is suitable for all ages.

Prior to “The King’s” performance, it’s also “Classic Car Night” at Yellow Creek Theatre.

The Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club will display its vintage cars around 6:30 p.m. Anyone who owns a classic car can participate in the display. No registration fees are required.

Classic cars will park on the left side of the Poland library parking lot. Moviegoers are asked to park in the right side of the lot or any parking lot nearby.

Car club members will serve hot dogs on the grill and all proceeds will go to the Wilcox family. Yellow Creek Theatre will donate its portion of the 50/50 raffle to the cause.

Elvis will perform at 8 p.m. The winner of the 50/50 raffle will be announced shortly before the start of the film, Viva Las Vegas, starring Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret. There will be a cartoon prior to the film at 9:20 p.m.

Yellow Creek Theatre screens outdoor movies Fridays on the Route 224 bridge wall behind the Poland library. For a complete schedule, visit www.yellowcreektheater.com.
