Salem theater gets $53K to replace roof

COLUMBUS

The Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission has approved $53,000 to replace the roof at Salem Community Theatre, 490 E. State St. The theater’s home is the former State Theater, which was built in 1922. SCT has provided live theater, dance and workshops there since 1981.

“This theater is not just a community theater, but it is also a budding educational facility for the performing arts,” said Nicole Paolozzi, treasurer of SCT. “As such, it is filling a wide service gap for our community. The roof project will save the historic building, which at times is the ‘home away from home’ for many community members.”

The OCFC is a state agency that supports economic development, educational opportunities and quality of life by improving cultural facilities
