Series of fundraisers to benefit county cats

TNR of Warren, Cats are People Too and Friends for Paws have scheduled a series of fundraising events, which will take place at Ponderosa Steak House on Elm Road during August to benefit cats in Trumbull County.

Anyone dining at the steak house or ordering wings or food for a party during August should tell the cashier they wish to support the animals, and 10 percent of the bill will be donated to fund low-cost spaying and neutering.

Patrons taking one of the fliers that have been posted throughout the county to Ponderosa will receive a raffle ticket for a basket of cat or dog goodies. Pictures of their pets submitted by patrons will be displayed on the Wall of Photos.

Scheduled as benefit events are the following:

Aug. 7 — Fun afternoon for children includes face painting, balloon artists, games and an opportunity to make a free cat toy. There will also be an adopt-a-thon featuring animals awaiting a home.

Aug. 14 — King Brothers will showcase their cars and residents may show their old cars.

Aug. 21 — Flea market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring new and used items.
