Rondinelli sweeps titles in Class B, Little b leagues

Rondinelli Tuxedo defeated Wharmby Sports, 15-6, on Wednesday to win the Class Big B League championship.

Rondinelli had 13 hits, scoring four runs in the sixth inning to break a 5-5 tie, then adding six runs in the seventh.

Jake Double had three hits, including a double, while Dan Ferguson had two doubles for Rondinelli. Chris Leiby hit a double and single, Zack Stein doubled, Kyle Vaclav hit a triple and single, and Phil Lipari singled twice.

Jason Burkes went 3 for 4, hitting a triple and doublem to lead Wharmby, while Dom DeFelice added a double.

Adam Shrodek was the winning pitcher, coming on in the third inning to finish the game.

Rondinelli 9, Astro Falcons 7

Rondinelli also won the Class Little b championship, scoring two runs in the top of the seventh to finish a rally from a 6-3 deficit.

Mike Raschilla hit two doubles for Rondinelli while Cory Hickman had one.

Sean Coyne was the winning pitcher and Justin McGinnis picked up the save.

Tommy Dallulo hit a triple to lead Astro, and Jared Weisen hit a double.

NABF JR. REGIONAL

Astro Falcons defeated Lincoln Park Rails, 5-4, in the opening round of the NABF Jr. Regional tournament at Cene Park on Thursday.

Alex Strittmatter came on in relief to earn the victory. Jared Weisen led Astro with two hits, including a double, and Tyler Serich had a double among two hits. Mike Briach added two hits. Eric Wilk had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs, and Tyler Vert had three hits and two RBIs for Lincoln Park.

Roth Brothers 15, Cincinnati Sharks 13

Zach Williams came on in relief to secure the win for Roth. Andrew Shaffer led Roth with three hits, including a triple, and he had three RBIs. Cam Onderko had two hits and two RBIs, while Anthony Abeid added two hits and Nick Kolat had two RBIs. Danny Watkins hit a triple.

Cincinnati Sharks 4, OTN Performance 1

Anthony Franco had a hit and scored the lone run for OTN.
