HILLSVILLE, Pa.

The monthly user fee for the planned Edinburg sewer line will be between $85 and $105 per month with a tap-in fee between $1,500 to $2,500.

Mahoning Township Supervisor Gary Pezzuolo said when supervisors met this week, the final figures have not been determined yet but will be within these ranges. But he added that any new construction along the sewer line after it is finished will be assessed a tap-in and monthly user fees and monthly fees would be reduced for all users.

The township is still awaiting word on whether Indianapolis-based Centaur will build a major casino/harness racing development in the township near U.S. Route 422. If it goes ahead, the “racino” would be a major customer on Phase II of the line and would lower the debt for all residents on the line. Centaur is trying to obtain financing for the project.
