A Youngstown man is in jail after Austintown police arrested him on charges of robbing two men at gunpoint.
Eugene Lamar, 26, of Oakwood Avenue, was charged early Wednesday with aggravated robbery and taken to Mahoning County jail, according to a police report.
One victim of the robbery told police he was driving south on N. Edgehill Avenue in Austintown about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday when the suspect pulled out of a bar at Mahoning Avenue and Edgehill, blocking the victim’s car.
The driver victim, 18, of Canfield, said a man believed to be Lamar got out of his green Ford Explorer and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at his head, demanding money, police stated.
He took $50 from the victim and his passenger and fled East on Mahoning Avenue, police said.
Police arrested Lamar at his Youngstown home after the victims provided a license-plate number and identified him in a photo.
During a search of the house, police said they found $50 crumpled up on Lamar’s bed but could not locate the handgun.
