‘LeBronfire’ planned after Aug. 5 game at Eastwood Field

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers have found a way to relieve some of the fire that jilted Cleveland Cavaliers fans still feel for the jettisoned LeBron James and let him feel some real heat.

The team will host “Jersey Demolition Night” on Aug. 5 where the team will burn James souvenirs and memorabilia in a “LeBronfire.” Fans who bring an item will receive a free upper-deck box ticket.

The bonfire will be after the game against the Tri-City Valley Cats behind second base. General admission tickets, 12-ounce beers and sodas and hot dogs will each be $1.

Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert has been personally invited to attend.

The Scrappers also will accept a trade-in of rally towels given out at the July 1 game prior to James’ announcement. Also accepted will be any other piece of Cleveland’s disappointing sports past, as well as references to “The Drive”, “The Fumble”, “The Shot” and Art Modell’s moving of the Browns to Baltimore.
