Scrappers plan "LeBronfire" night on Aug. 5

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers have found a way to relieve some of the fire that jilted Cleveland Cavaliers still feel for the jettisoned LeBron James and let him feel some real heat.

The team will host a “Jersey Demolition Night” on Aug. 5 where the team will burn James souvenirs and memorabilia – a LeBronfire. Fans who bring a piece of LeBron apparel or merchandise will receive a free upper-deck box ticket.

The bonfire will take place after the game against the Tri-City Valley Cats behind second base. General admission tickets, 12-ounce beers and sodas and hot dogs will each be $1.

Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert has been personally invited to attend.

In addition to James paraphernalia, the Scrappers will also accept a trade-in of the rally towels the team gave out at the July 1 game prior to James’ announcement. Also accepted will be any other piece of Cleveland’s disappointing sports past.

References to “The Drive”, “The Fumble”, “The Shot” and Art Modell’s moving of the Browns to Baltimore will also be accepted.
