REUNIONS | Former classmates plan to meet

Cardinal Mooney Alumni Association is announcing new officers for two-year terms: Ginger Leone Kubala, president; Carole Haus Halloran, vice president; Paul Palumbo, treasurer; and Nancy Walcott Varley, secretary. The board and Sister Jane Marie Kudlacz, principal, meet six times each year. The school recently graduated its 51st class. Alumni are encouraged to register at the Cardinal Mooney website.

Chaney High School Class of January 1950 will have a 60th reunion Sept. 4 at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road. The social gathering will be at 6 p.m. and meals will be ordered from the menu at 6:30. Reservations are to be made by calling 330-782-9534 by Aug. 2.

Crestview High School Class of 1995 will have its 15-year reunion from 4-11 p.m. July 31 at Firestone Park and Pool, Pavilion No. 1, across from the duck pond, in Columbiana. The cost is $20 per couple/alumni. Alumni are encouraged to take their spouses and children for an evening of fun. Local alumni are asked to take a covered dish, dessert or beverage. Catering will also be provided by Cassese’s MVR of Youngstown. Children’s games and activities will be provided, and the pool has been rented from 9-11 p.m. for a late night pool party, including a DJ. Alumni are welcome to invite family and friends to the pool party. A post-reunion nightclub will also be designated for that evening. For more details, contact John A. East High School Class of 1960 will have its 50th class reunion Aug. 13 and 14. On the agenda: Aug. 13, Holiday Inn Boardman for an informal gathering; and Aug. 14, Tippecanoe Country Club for a dinner-dance. Invitations have been mailed. Gatewood Family Gathering, planned for July 15, 16 and 17, has been canceled due to the critical illness of a member of the family. The family hopes to see everyone next year. For more information call Arlette Gatewood at 330-743-9005.

Greenford High School will have its 106th alumni banquet Aug. 21 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. The social will begin at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6. Reservations are to be made by Aug 1 with Stevie Kelly Coleman, 330-702-1161.

Hubbard High School Class of 1951 will meet at noon July 21 at the Globe Restaurant in Truck World Mall. All are welcome.

Hubbard High School Class of 1973 is having a summer get-together on Aug. 21. The picnic will start between 3 and 4 p.m. at the home of Marlene Lesnak Wise in Hubbard. Respond to Rick and Chris Letro Hanrahan at 330-533-4712 by Aug. 7. The class fund will provide burgers and hot dogs. Take a dish to share and a beverage of your choice and chair. There will be cornhole games and music. Friends from other Hubbard classes are welcome; report who is attending.

Woodrow Wilson High School Classes of January and June 1947 will have their 63rd Class reunion from 2-7 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Byzantine Center, 3801 Shady Run Road, Youngstown. The cost is $27. For reservations call 330-729-9806.
