Aug. 7 to be great night for singles at DeYor Arts Center

“The Love Connection” night of fun and entertainment is planned mainly for single men and women — single by choice, divorced or widowed — of the Northeastern Ohio area.

The event will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 7 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center, where singles will have an opportunity to connect with other singles through a dating game, a singles meet and greet and speed dating.

Although activities are mainly for adult single men and women over the age of 26, the evening will provide entertainment for married or single couples to watch and to participate in the dating game.

The game helps the audience choose which eligible bachelor or bachelorette are the best match. Ultimately the contestants will choose their dates.

The speed dating provides the participants a chance to quickly ask the person in front of them a few intriguing questions to determine if there is any spark or interest in pursuing further conversation

The event will conclude with a social hour during which attendees will have a final chance to make introductions.

There will be contestant perks and prizes and follow-up parties at several bars in downtown Youngstown.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit A Way With Words Foundation Inc., a nonprofit 501c3 organization, which helps children with cancer.
