Symphony guild elects officers
CANFIELD
Youngstown Symphony Guild elected officers for the 2010-2011 year during a recent meeting at the Tippecanoe Country Club.
The YSG is the fundraising segment of the Youngstown Symphony Society, which supports the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra through several fundraising events. One such event is the Symphony Ball, a preeminent social event that has become an annual favorite.
The guild also sponsors the first Pops concert each season and has on its projected schedule a fashion trunk show and a specialty concert with Jack Hanna and friends from the Columbus Zoo.
Officers for the 2010-2011 year include:
Mercy Komar, president for a second term
Carole Bertolini, vice president
Carol Richardson, recording secretary
Frankie Harbol, treasurer
Komar is a commercial account executive with First Place Insurance and a former partner and vice president of The Insurance Center of Warren. She attained her Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 1992 and has served as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Trumbull County. She and her husband, Robert, reside in North Lima.
