Street concert planned downtown

YOUNGSTOWN

Pig Iron Literary and Art Works is sponsoring a community street concert from 3-8:30 p.m. Saturday at North Phelps and Federal Streets downtown.

Featured will be music by Nothing Pure and Makayla Dawn; entertainment by Jason Alan Magic, Dr. Ray’s Amazing Side Show of Science; Pig Iron Poets; food and refreshments. Also to be announced: fun in the street. There is no admission charge.

Local author to sign his latest novel

Sam Moffie, author of four novels that have won various awards and praise, will be signing copies of his latest work, “The Book of Eli,” at 6 p.m. Friday at The Mocha House in Boardman, which is in the Marc’s plaza at state Route 224 and Tiffany Drive.
