Rondinelli and Wharmby win

Chris Leiby’s double drove home Zack Stein with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fourth inning, and Brandon Easton did the rest, scattering eight hits in a complete-game effort, to lead Rondinelli Tuxedo over Roth Brothers, 3-2, in a Class B League playoff game on Thursday night at Cene Park.

Jake Double had a triple and double for Rondinelli, and scored his team’s first run of the game on a sacrifice fly by Leiby. Stein added a pair of singles.

Nick Cubarney hit a two-run single for Roth. He, Cam Onderko and Vince Falconi all finished with two hits.

Wharmby 6, 1080 media 5

Wharmby rallied from a 5-3 deficit with a three-run rally in the sixth inning.

Jason Burkes hit a RBI single for Wharmby in the first inning. Josh Saverko was the winning pitcher and David Saluga pitched two innings of relief to earn the save.

Dan Popio and Mike Floravit hit doubles for 1080 Media. Floravit had a RBI single also and he scored a run on a steal of home.

Roth Bros. 9, Wharmby 4

Andrew Schafer went 4 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead Roth in a Little b playoff game. Anthony Abeid, Jake Probanec and Nick Kolat all hit triples as part of Roth’s 17-hit attack.

Roth broke a 3-3 tie with a three-run rally in the fourth inning, and added two more runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.

John McGeary was the winning pitcher with relief from Nick Kolat. Ron DeAmicis led Wharmby with a pair of singles and Mike Heluo added a double.
