‘Today’ allows gays in wedding contest

NBC’s decision to allow gay couples to enter the “Today” show’s annual wedding contest triggered a passionate online debate Friday, opening a new front in the fiercely waged battle over same-sex marriage.

The move came the same day as a federal judge in Boston ruled part of the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional.

ESPN analyst held on child-porn charge

BRISTOL, Conn.

Jeremy Green, an analyst for ESPN and son of former NFL coach Dennis Green, has been arrested on a child-pornography charge in Connecticut.

Bristol police say Green was picked up Thursday around 5 p.m. in a Southington hotel and charged with possession of child pornography, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.
