Strawberry festival is Poland tradition

Poland Presbyterian Church kicked off the 2010 Celebrate Poland with sweet success, hosting its annual Strawberry Festival June 25.
The event has been a church tradition for over 50 years.
Over 200 pounds of strawberries were used to serve the crowd of nearly 800, along with fresh-baked shortcakes and ice cream. A hot dog and sausage barbecue was also provided by the church youth.
Eighty visitors toured the church to learn about the history of the historical stone building, built in 1897. The Presbyterian Church was first established on these grounds at the Poland Village Green in 1803.
