Mercer, PA.

The O’Reilly All Star Late Models are coming to Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday for the first time.

This is the richest Super Late Model event in Mercer Raceway Park’s history as $4,000 will await the winner.

The All Star Late Models are in their second year of operation after taking over the former IRS Late Model Series.

Mercer Raceway Park opened the season on March 27 with the “Chiller Thriller,” which was previously the track’s richest Super Late Model event.

“The fans really supported our opener and what a race it was,” expressed Mercer Raceway Park owner Bill Altman. “This was an open date on our schedule and I’m looking forward to the Super Late Models returning.”

On an interesting note, though his son Max is a nine-time winner at the track and the defending FASTRAK Late Model Champion, it’s been over 20 years since 2009 All Star Late Model Champion, Robbie Blair, last competed at Mercer.

Blair got off to a fast start winning the April 30 opener at Lernerville Speedway over a 38-car field. Blair is again leading the early points over Jared Miley, Boom Briggs, Jared Hawkins, Gregg Satterlee, Greg Oakes, Rod Conley, Matt Lux, John Garvin, Jr., and May 15 Hilltop Speedway winner Dave Hess, Jr.
