Farmers National Bank wins SBA Lender of the Year award

A local bank has been selected the Mahoning Valley’s Small Business Administration Lender of the Year.

The Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corporation named Farmers National Bank the area’s SBA Lender of the Year at a recent reception in Vienna.

The Canfield-based bank received the award in recognition of the bank’s commitment to small-business lending. Farmers National Bank has made more U.S. Small Business Administration loans than any other bank in the Valley the past year.

“We are very pleased with this recognition”, said John Gulas, the bank’s chief executive. “ As a large community bank, we have always been committed to using our financial strength to benefit our neighbors, community and local businesses.”

One of the bank’s lenders also was singled out for his work in small-business lending. Pete Noll, Farmers’ assistant vice president for commercial lending, was named the area’s SBA Lender of the Year.
