Bad breaker causes power outage for 6,000

Some 6,000 FirstEnergy customers in portions of Austintown, Mineral Ridge, Niles, Girard and Warren lost power for more than an hour today when a breaker failed at the Niles substation, said Robin Patton, power company spokesman.

She said the outage occurred at 1:55 p.m. and power was restored by 3 p.m.
