YSU president to speak at service

YOUNGSTOWN

Cynthia Anderson, Youngstown State University president, along with other community members, will offer greetings as congregants from Wick District churches gather for the seventh annual ecumenical service, a part of the 2010 Youngstown State University’s Summer Festival of the Arts.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave. Refreshments will follow, and all are welcome.

Participants from the Wick district are St. John’s Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church, Butler Memorial Presbyterian Church, Oak Baptist Presbyterian Church and St. Columba Cathedral.

The Rev. Nick Mager of First Presbyterian will lead the service and Dr. Donna Sloan, a member of First Presbyterian, will give the sermon entitled “Who Is My Neighbor?”
